100 Days Project

jeni: A scribble a day and things/people I love

A series of small sketches with watercolour wash, to see how good I can get at it after 100 days of practice. I started a while ago and for a few days I had gusto and enthusiasm, but as with previous hobbies, once I started being critical and disappointed, I lost confidence and stopped bothering. I might add a journal entry here and there, but for the most part it will be the pencil and the watercolour. I am looking forward to the discipline that commitment - to the 100 Days Project - brings out in me. I have way better staying power with a bit of a push.

Day 8:

TV baby

Waking up on a Friday to rain makes a happy Jeni. Fridays are our no-commitment day and I really like the kids to be able to spend a day relaxing at home, with no expectations and no rush. So we did a bit of baking and watched Peter Pan. So another baby - Edie - in front of the telly. Yes my kids do wear hoodies a lot.

Edit: Just when all is calm (amid a huge mess) lo and behold, the landlord's handyman turns up to put a latch on the window. The job doesn't take too long, he finishes and loads his stuff up in his ute. But then he at the door again, with his ukelele and announces he is going to play for the kids - a very loud performance - complete with singing. His original, NZ's got Talent number apparently. We rewarded him with a muffin thinking it was all over then we got an encore of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. I shit you not. The kids were thrilled. I was a teensy bit concerned.

Happy weekend friends, family and fellow 100 days participants.
