100 Days Project

Kayla: Grief. Mercy. Language

I will write some form of poem or prose each day, experimenting with different structures, voices and styles in order to create emotive texts that explore the limits of language and meaning.

You lay there with your arms flapping gently, and opened your eyes for the first time. I saw a kaleidoscope of green and black, and beauty – and glimpsed in those first few minutes of your life, the purity you would always hold. And I whispered for the first time, but not the last -

“We’re the same, you and me.”

Day 8:

Aoatea

Warrior Princess is very much an ode to all the people I love the most. This is about one I haven't met yet - from Part 5.
