She greeted me in a husky voice, introduced herself as Nadia and asked me how long I had been swimming at Home Bay. She was a regular and had never seen me before. I told her how I had only recently discovered this bay and that I’d been swimming at Sentinel Beach, the next bay along for the past few years. She pulled out a packet of Benson & Hedges and from it’s gold box she withdrew what looked like a joint. She passed it to me and asked if I’d do the honours. It was such a surprising gesture from a very interesting albeit complete stranger, especially on a hot summers day with other people around, but it felt like fun. So we sat in the sunshine getting stoned and she began to tell me her story.
Lindy: Never Postpone a Prompting
I am going to finely craft a paragraph everyday.
100 paragraphs = a collection of 5-8 short stories.
Life unscripted - these are to be a collection of my inner city tales - outrageous things I've seen and heard. I've always wanted to write them, half are still in my head, the others need fine-tuning.
