100 Days Project

Willie: What It Is To Ponder

Every day there are opportunities to ponder. So often life gets in the way to ponder with meaning. For the 100 days of this project I will take time out every day to reflect on those ponder-able moments. I will attempt to articulate my 'ponderings' through the use of poetry. Risky but fun. Can I actually write poetry? Here we go...

Flopsy has got attitude,
She fits in really well
With the family in the house.
Not with the chicks inside.

Her comb is parted.
It flops down the left hand side.
She has a look of “I am me”,
Not like the chicks inside.

Each night she somehow gets outside
The paddock where she should reside.
She roosts inside the feijoas
Not with the chicks inside.

What do we do with such attitude,
Trapped up inside a hen?
Such attitude does not fit in,
Not with the chicks on the inside.

Society’s just like the chicks,
We’re expected to conform.
I think I’ll side with Flopsy,
Not with the chicks inside.

Day 2:

There’s Attitude

This one's titled, There's Attitude. Society sure needs some positive attitude. I'll work on Flopsy, but she's inspirational.
