100 Days Project

Kayla: Grief. Mercy. Language

I will write some form of poem or prose each day, experimenting with different structures, voices and styles in order to create emotive texts that explore the limits of language and meaning.

Mary, Mary, mother dear

Your lamb follows where you go

But give me half your burden share

And you'll have one more friend than foe.

Mary, Mary, my sore eyes' sight,

just watch your children grow

Like sunflowers, so tall and bright

Still turning for Mother's glow.

Day 14:

I like to play with the two 'Mary, Mary' nursery rhymes and their similarities.
