100 Days Project

Natasha: Taking a break - 10 mins out the window ... or in the mirror.

Each day I will do a 10 minute sketch either looking out from our home which is on the side of a hill or alternatively, I will do a self portrait. On Monday nights I will throw in a drawing from my regular portrait session. I will be using a variety of mediums and focii. With the landscapes I will sometimes focus on the underlying landform - other times on what has grown or been constructed on it - or on the interaction between sky colour, vegetation and the roofs. Some maybe closer environs and some the distant hills or harbour. I will be interested to see whether a relationship develops between this and the self-portraits. On occasion from Day 65 on I will be working from photographs - having exhausted what I can do for now from "the mirror".

Day 14:

End of night sketch - on the sofa again.

Sometimes I get to doing this at the very end of a day when the view out the window its a nightscape and last night was too cold to open the curtains, so another "on the sofa" drawing.
