100 Days Project

Kayla: Grief. Mercy. Language

I will write some form of poem or prose each day, experimenting with different structures, voices and styles in order to create emotive texts that explore the limits of language and meaning.

For you, there'll be no more crying
because I looked at you and saw
at last, that you were smiling.
And the dawn birds keep singing
like they know the score.
The night is done, the earth is warm,
and hand in hand, we swam ashore.

Day 11:

My husband said I should write something happy for once, and so I did. Inspired by Songbird.
